IOSH

The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health is the Chartered body for health and safety. With more than 42,000 members in 85 countries, we’re the biggest professional body for health and safety in the world. Our members work in organisations in every sector of the economy, advising directors and managers on protecting millions of working people. IOSH was founded in 1945 and is a registered charity.

Chartered Safety and Health Practitioners are qualified to at least degree level and have reached our high standards for knowledge, skills and experience. They are required to follow our strict Code of Conduct. These highly qualified professionals advise small and medium-sized businesses that don’t need full-time health and safety support. They also work with any business looking for specialist advice, for example to tackle noise and vibration issues or deal with asbestos or clinical waste.
