The Group Health Safety and Environmental Manager will be responsible for developing and updating all Health Safety and Environmental strategy and policy for all group businesses in line with legal compliance and best practice.

·        Reviewing and updating health, safety and environmental policies and procedures as required.

·        Annual review of the Health, Safety and Environment Management System and make recommendations for improvement.

·        Development and Delivery of a new Integrated Management Line Management Learning and Development programmes across the UK and Supervision of all overseas consulting matters.

o   Internal lead auditor performing regular, Development & implementation of safety management system - ISO14001, 45001, 9001 & 22301 audits.

o   implementation of workplace wellbeing initiatives

·        Undertaking routine Audits of all Health, Safety and Environmental processes and procedure’s across all sites and reporting any issues to management.

·        Provide relevant Health, Safety Environmental advice to senior management across the Group.

·        Assisting with and overseeing serious accident/incident investigations concerning health, safety and the environment.

·        Assisting management on the promotion of Health, Safety and Environmental at site level.

·        Preparing quarterly Health, Safety and Environmental Executive report and attending the Leadership Team meetings as required to discuss/update/escalate any health, safety and environmental issues as necessary.

·        Identifying best practice, collating health, safety and environmental data and maintaining records of compliance.

·        Circulating regulatory health, safety and environmental updates, posters, training tools and other pertinent information to the Operations, Fleet Managers and other managers & supervisors as appropriate.

·        Providing the first line of communication with UK regulators in relation to major incidents.

·        Training all new senior management on Health, Safety and Environment policies and procedures.

·        Engaging internally and externally to share best practice and ideas, constantly assessing opportunities for improvement and innovation.

·        Working with external agencies on Health, Safety and Environmental issues.

My duties are varied as it may differ depending on the business unit I am supporting, however, my main role was to provide advice on EH&S statutory and regulatory compliance requirements. My duties and responsibilities were as follows:

·        Identifying SHEQ performance improvement opportunities, design and implementation of changes to divisional systems

·        Delivery of Group SHEQ strategy at divisional level and oversee business unit safety advisors.

·        Managing the integration of newly acquired business units within the division into the Group SHEQ systems.

·        Supporting the delivery of legal and other compliance obligations.

·        Leading audits (ISO), inspections and incident investigations.  Constantly seeking areas for improvement and development in SHEQ performance.

·        Technical review/supporting junior members of the team.

·        External audit participation and guidance.

·        Provision and design of SHEQ training to RSK Group employees and external parties as required.

·        Leading on Divisional implementation of Group SHEQ initiatives and always seeking opportunities to improve and develop Environment, Health & Safety performance

·        Manage Group projects as instructed by the Group SHEQ Director

·        Assisting the SHEQ team in providing SHEQ compliance, advice, guidance with applicable legislation and industry best practice

·        Preparation and review of risk assessments and procedures

·        Carrying out inductions, training, and toolbox talks if required.

My Current role: Project Manager - UK Integration and Improvement Projects. Reporting to the Director.  I manage/lead projects of a compliance or Training/ Learning nature working in partnership. Projects I have been tasked with whilst in this role;

Secondly, to build Project Delivery Tools and Techniques that can be shared across the group.

·        Liaise with the Health & Safety Executive, Environment Agency & other government appointed bodies as required, by clients

·        Monitor the Human Factors, carry out assessment and report on these results for a verity on sectors (Oil & Gas, COMAH Site, Transportation, Renewable & National energy to name a few)

·        Responsible person for the implementation of the DSEAR regulations - Carry out workplace Fire & DSEAR Assessment.

·        Review contractor RAMS, carry out control of contractor inductions, audit permits and monitor on site projects.

• Provide advice and coaching to operational managers and supervisors in respect of managing the EH&S aspects of their day-to-day undertakings.
• Develop EH&S awareness training sessions and deliver such training in a range of HSEQ topics e.g. risk assessment, manual handling; COSHH Assessments, II-VI Golden Rules, II-VI MS and other reporting processes.
