About Alex
I'm Alex, Director of Mullings Associates Ltd | Strategic Safety Partners. I have been influencing safety strategy in the built environment for over a decade. With a passion for life-long learning, I hold Chartered Safety and Health Practitioner status of IOSH, Chartered Fellow status of the CMI, a qualified Executive Coach as well as a BSc (Hons) Construction Project Management, MSc Resource and Environmental Management and an MBA.
Why partner with me?
I am widely recognised for my ability to translate complex theory into practical, people-focused strategies that drive measurable safety performance. Through my diverse education and experience, I understand how to land effective safety strategy in the broader organisational context. I have led numerous projects for high profile clients across the public and private sector clients. Highlights include:
- Construction Ready behavioural safety programme for a major public highway’s organisation.
- Safer Everyday Bitesize Coaching series for a large infrastructure provider.
- No Life at Risk initiative for a global facilities and energy services organisation.
- Global behavioural safety training for major projects teams at a multi-national tech firm.
- Influential Safety Leader programme for a leading global engineering consultancy.
- Authored the industry’s first IOSH-approved Building Safety Act 2022 Awareness training, delivered to over 2,500 built environment professionals to date.
I specialise in advising, consulting and coaching organisations on influencing safety strategy in the broader organisational context.
Driven by the belief that safety culture must be lived, not laminated on a noticeboard, I curated BITESIZE conversations™, an innovative conversational learning practice that helps organisations embed behavioural competence aligned with recognised industry standards through short, impactful discussions delivered in the flow of work, eliminating the time, cost and disruption of out-dated traditional workplace learning methods.
