Overview
Having supported many small companies with ground works, plumbing, scaffolding companies has enabled me to understand how to apply regulations in an efficient manner without restricting work activities complying with SMAS, Construction On Line and CHAS. My career has seen me lead within Royal Mail and understand how business reorganisation and Human Factors play a huge impact on the business. Additonaly the proceedural process to permits and H&S within the MOD proved a further education in managing safety through proceedures. Working for BBUL in Anglian Water enabled a wider understanding to transient workplace set up in remote locations. Since 2007 the companies I have submitted for awards have been successfully shortlisted for at least 2 awards each year and was the only construction company to be represented at the National Business Awards 2010. Since 2013 I have supported many Small SMEs in achieving new business, providing interventions and support with clients and enlightening all involved often achieving new business clients. Always looking for positive solutions creating a can do approach through engagement and listening. This was applied during highway/lighting contracts in both Northamptonshire and Cambridgeshire resulting in new practices adopted for historic poor hidden findings. My clients have seen year on year growth by applying HAWSA principles 'cost v benefit' and 'as far as is reasonably practicacable' despite the 2017/21 increase of over compliance burden generally incorrectly imposed by clients. The only represetative at the HSE/IOSH industry ICE Summit for Occupational lead this year speaking for Micro SMEs/SMEs highlighting CDM prinicple failures resulting in imposed conditions on small companies and thier employees. Appointed FFI appeal panelist by HSE since 2012 and constantly making my clients aware of case law, often within hours guiding them on where there is potential concern and measure to evidence 'reasonably practicable' even on clients sites when there are failings. Alwalys proactive rather than reactive hence the success my clients have achieved.
