Mr Henderson-Jones Joseph
Bachelor of Arts
Overview
Joseph Henderson-Jones FIIRSM is Managing Director of Hendersons Health & Safety Solutions, providing structured, proportionate health and safety consultancy across occupational, construction and public-facing environments.
With over two decades of leadership experience in high-risk operational settings, including strategic roles in civil contingencies, major events and multi-agency coordination, Joe brings a strategic but practical approach to risk management. He supports organisations to maintain control, demonstrate compliance and make defensible decisions in real-world conditions.
His work spans governance and oversight, inspections and audits, incident investigation, CDM support, RAMS and policy development, alongside advisory support to leadership teams operating in complex environments such as construction projects, critical infrastructure and large-scale events.
Joe’s focus is on how organisations actually operate in practice ensuring legal duties are understood and discharged effectively, risks are prioritised appropriately, and assurance is maintained as businesses grow, change or operate under pressure. His approach emphasises clarity, proportionate control and credible decision-making rather than volume of documentation.
Hendersons supports organisations that require more than documentation delivering clear, usable arrangements that reflect how work is carried out in reality and stand up to scrutiny when it matters.

Work History
| Role | From - To | Job Title / Description |
|---|---|---|
| Various - Including high ranking Police service | 01.1993 - 05.2026 | I began my adult working career in construction and manual labour roles to support my university studies, gaining early exposure to site-based risk, practical controls and the realities of how work is actually carried out. After graduating, I moved into financial services, developing a strong grounding in commercial awareness, structure and accountability, before transitioning into public service where I was able to apply my academic focus on risk and events within operational environments. My time in public service centred on major events, civil contingencies and emergency planning, working within complex, high-pressure environments where effective risk management and clear decision-making were critical. I developed experience across planning, coordination and operational delivery, including multi-agency working and command structures, supporting the safe management of public-facing activity at both a tactical and strategic level. This period shaped my approach to risk which grounded in real-world application, proportionate control and the need for arrangements that function effectively under pressure, not just on paper. I later transitioned into consultancy, initially returning to the construction sector to build on my early experience and develop a detailed working knowledge of CDM, site operations and contractor management. Establishing Hendersons Health & Safety Solutions, I supported SMEs and sole traders through compliance, SSIP accreditations and procurement readiness, working closely with businesses to translate regulatory requirements into practical, workable systems that reflect their day-to-day operations. Over time, my role has evolved into providing more strategic advisory support, working with organisations to manage risk at an organisational level through governance, assurance and management systems. This includes supporting leadership teams to understand their responsibilities, prioritise risk and demonstrate effective control as their operations grow and become more complex. Across all stages of my career, my core area of expertise has remained consistent, major events, event safety and public protection, all bringing a structured, proportionate and operationally credible approach to managing risk in real-world environments. |
