Contracts manager and carry out the duties of the Company Health & Safety Officer 

Overall responsibility for projects including; Supervision of foremen, quality control, completion of projects within client timescales and budget requirements, liaison with client, Site Surveys, estimating and negotiation, Site and Works Programming. Health and Safety responsibilities include, the evaluation of risk and identification (Risk Assessment), preparation and implementation of safe systems of work (Method Statements), preparation of Construction phase health and safety plan, communication of risk and method statements to operatives, monitoring of site and work shop / Warehouse hazards and implantation of controls. Providing advice on health and safety legislation, and introduction of Health and Safety Management Systems.

Ensure sub-contractors are in compliance with risk assessment and method statements.  Audit and review of existing health and safety management systems, including review and revamp of existing health and safety policy. The introduction and on going implementation of Health and Safety Management System (HSG 65), the preparation of new company Health and safety polices and procedures such as Smoking policy, waste management strategy. Voluntary mentoring of trainee Health & Safety officer.

 Overall Health and Safety responsibilities. Develop and prepare Construction phase Health and Safety Plans, develop and implement site rules, inductions, carry out site safety inspections and compile safety reports.

 Produce all company risk assessments and method statements; conduct fire risk assessments, develop fire emergency plans for all construction sites, collate all required information for the statutory Health and Safety file. Chair health and safety meetings, record and distribute minutes.

 Present recommendations to management and implement Health and Safety controls, advise on and update company health and safety documentation, including Company health and safety policy

Audit and review of existing and new health and safety control systems.

 Install the health and safety management system to implement company health and safety policy and procedures. Conduct fire risk assessments & develop fire emergency plans for company premises.

Deliver certificated courses and develop in house training on health and safety management & operational risk control systems.

Advise management on Company environmental aspects, impacts & environmental legislative requirements.

Oversee health and safety management of group admin & warehouse operations throughout the company estate.

Services included but no limited to:

 Develop & prepare Construction phase Health & Safety plans,  site risk assessment & method statements, carry out health & safety site inspections, environmental noise & occupational noise surveys. Carryout site fire risk assessment & advice on fire emergency plans. Carryout Asbestos   surveys & prepare asbestos reports. Develop & deliver bespoke health & safety training, such as asbestos awareness, construction dust training etc.

Assist in the accreditation process & successfully gain accreditation to safe contractor, CHAS etc.

Pre 2015 CDM-Coordinator duties, various military infrastructure projects and   various training centre refurbishment projects for the London Fire Brigade completed.

Carry out the statutory duties of Principal Designer on various commercial & domestic construction projects

Develop & deliver bespoke health & safety training, such as asbestos awareness, construction dust training etc.
