The safety manager of 200+ employees at 2 locations, responsible for the following; - Safe Systems of Work – Developed and implemented a Safe System of work, including emergency plans, risk assessments throughout the company, to meet legislation and best practice within the industry. Assess new legislation or directives to ensure inclusion where required within the company’s Safe System of work.
- Continuous improvement - Maintained a continuous improvement approach to health & safety, using monitoring and assessment techniques, to ensure a dynamic and pragmatic approach to safety were maintained at all levels. Investigate any accidents and prepare risk assessments, including recommendations and changes to the safety system.
- Drive Health & Safety Awareness – Developed effective communications at all levels throughout the company, to ensure safety was paramount, and that a high level of focus was maintained at all times. Represent H&S at senior management meeting, ensuring the appropriate level of awareness and ‘buy in’ were maintained. Carry out and publish Safety inspections raising issues for improvement as required.
- Manage Budgets - Negotiate budgets to ensure monies were available to develop the Safe System of work, including training and development of employees.
- Also,responsible for overseeing various construction projects on the two premises.
