Overview
As a Chartered member of IOSH and an Practitioner member of IEMA, I have been involved in the management of health, safety and environmental issues for over 10 years. I am experienced in the management of EHS in a variety of sectors that include consultancy, sports and leisure facilities, education establishments, research and technology centres, manufacturing environments, logistics and workplace transport.
I work effectively with organisations to find solutions rather than build barriers when approaching their EHS issues to ensure the organisations not only improves their resistance to EHS failings but can remain efficient and productive. I provide a friendly, professional and efficient service and can provide assistance in the following areas

I am required to visit different sites that include healthcare, retail, residential, office and vacant land sites to carry out detailed assessments that identify the risks for large commercial land owners / landlords. On completing these assessments and having identified the clients vulnerabilities. I am then responsible for drafting a suitable action plan that will mitigate these risks allowing the client to improve their resistance to the hazards identified. |
Metokote UK Ltd, UK Environmental, Health and Safety Manager, | 10.2014 - 03.2015 | Metokote UK Ltd is a part of the global group Metokote Corporation that operates 30 large factories across the world. The UK factory is a large and very busy production environment that specialise in the powder coating and electro-coating of parts for the automotive industry. As the UK EHS Manager I was responsible for the health and safety management of the high risk work processes and activities and the management of a Part B environmental installation. I used my experience and understanding of manufacturing environments to implement a strategic and realistic action plan that would create a positive health and safety culture. I was proactive in engaging with the management teams and employees to get a clear understanding of the issues the organisation had and then facilitated a health and safety group so all parties were involved in creating a solution. On reviewing the operations and the existing management system, I was able to recognise improvements and devise action plans to further reduce the organisations vulnerability to health and safety issues. SATRA Technology Centre, Health, Safety and Environmental Manager | 07.2012 - 10.2014 | SATRA Technology is a world leading research and technology centre that provides a variety of services that include laboratory testing, research and auditing to global manufacturers and retailers within the UK and overseas. The company has various departments that include large office environments, testing rooms and research laboratories, engineering and manufacturing workshops. As the HSE Manager, I was responsible for the management of the health, safety and environment within the multi site organisation. I reported directly to the Chief Executive and was responsible for advising the Executive Board on all health, safety and environmental matters. My role was diverse managing the risk from various work place activities that include the use of hazardous substances, DSEAR, the use of heavy plant and machinery, work place transport, working at height, CDM and the management of contractors. During my employment I implemented a health and safety management system that improved the health and safety culture throughout the company whilst raising the awareness and ownership by the employees. In my time, the number of accidents and loss time injuries has reduced improving employee morale and productivity. I developed and improved the health and safety management and controls at all levels within the company and as a consequence the company now benefits from an improved legal compliance.

Camden Group Ltd Camden Group, Health, Safety and Quality Control Manager | 08.2011 - 07.2012 | Camden Group Ltd are a large window manufactiring company that have production facilities in Northern and the main land UK. The UK factory was a large and very busy production environment that specialised in the manufacturing if UPVC window frames for the domestic and commercial housing sector. My major achievement was the creation, implementation and development of the site’s Health, Safety and Environmental Management system. In addition I used my knowledge and experience to influence Senior Management and the factory operatives in achieving a culture change that was positive towards health and safety. I am experienced in health and safety management and applied legislation and best practice to a diverse working environment that includes factory and office staff, the use of heavy machinery, workplace transport safety and fire safety. I managed the health, safety and environmental issues on the site effectively resulting in an increase in productivity whilst reducing staff loss time through effective controls to minimise accidents and incidents on site. |
Montsaye Academy (Northants County Council), Montsaye Community Sports Centre, Business Manager and Health and Safety Advisor | 06.2006 - 06.2011 | This newly built sports facility opened in October 2006 comprising of a four badminton court size Sportshall, full size third generation rubber crumb all weather pitch, full size grass football pitches and a swimming pool. The site currently employs 30 full and part time members of staff. My major achievement was the development of this brand new business that now attracts over 3000 visits per week. I created and developed the current quality management system implementing these systems to ensure effective operations and high standards. I was responsible for the financial budgets, the management of the business Health and Safety policies and procedures, planning of the operation, recruitment and training of all the staff employed.
