Mr Martin Marmoy-Haynes
MSc BSc DipH&S CMIOSH MIFPO
Overview
I am a Health & Safety Consultant (IOSH Chartered Safety & Health Professional) with over 30 years’ experience, advising organisations across the UK; factories, warehouses, construction, arboriculture, architects, facilities management, education, healthcare, charities, retail & government. I have acquired in-depth knowledge of health & safety law & the HSE approved codes of practice. I investigate fatal & serious workplace accidents.
After I experienced a potentially fatal incident whilst working in a pharmaceutical factory, I became focused on identifying root causes, protecting people from danger in the workplace and thoroughly investigating accidents when they do occur. I learned to remove emotional and subjective thoughts to what must be analysed with cold objectivity as an expert witness carrying out an investigation. I fully understand my duty to the court and that it overrides any obligations to the person from whom I received instructions or by whom I am paid. My duty as an expert is, of course, to be independent and to impartially assist the court.
I am familiar with undertaking pre-Trial work such as Expert Meetings / Joint Statements / Answering Written Questions / Advising in Conference, and I have given evidence in court on a number of occasions
I offer no-nonsense consultancy in managing health, safety, and fire hazards. My business experience ranges from multi-site environments of 10,000 staff to small businesses with a handful of employees. I demonstrate the health and safety case on the grounds of best practice and good business sense, based on balancing risk against time, money and trouble as encouraged by Great Britain’s government regulator, the HSE. I personally investigate accidents, carry out risk assessments, deliver training sessions, audit performance, write procedures, and meet any regulator face-to-face.
A fast-response, 24-hour & weekend service is available to respond to crisis events. I formed my own company to enable me to serve small businesses & organisations, as well as larger companies.
