Being a member of a professional body which sets competence standards for its members, and prescribes levels of qualification and schemes of continuing professional development, I have many years of experience in helping employers to manage risk sensibly, ie, focussing on reducing real risks, both those which arise more often and those with serious consequences.

Health & Safety Audit

A tool that provides a legal compliance check of all of the areas within your business operations which an Enforcing Authority Inspector would examine. Essentially, the audit consists of an examination of documentation, procedures and practices, supplemented with interviews of key personnel and allows the results of consecutive audits to be compared to reveal performance trends from year to year.

Health & Safety Policy

I specialise in producing and maintaining the health & safety policy document of many companies in a variety of industries. My policies are not generic and are specific to your company's operations and work activities.

Risk Assessments

All employers are legally required to assess the health and safety risks to their workers and others who may be affected by their business activities.

Risk assessments (including COSHH, manual handling, VDUs, equipment & machinery, workplace, fire etc) are specific to your company's operations and work activities and carried out with minimum disruption to your business.

Safety Inspections

Pre-arranged or ad-hoc inspections to monitor ongoing health and safety compliance on construction sites and business premises.

Training

Health and safety awareness training in manual handling, fire safety, construction safety and engineering safety.  Certificates of attendance issued.

As a provider of health and safety assistance, the support I provide is:
