Mr Paul Kelly
Overview
In March 2018 I wrote and published a book entitled 'Health and Safety Management in Domiciliary Care' - 'A practical Guide'The book can be obtained from Lulu.com and offers practical sound advice for care workers who visit private dwellings and the effective management of the staff, the company and the service users. There are currently no other 'safety management' books availale to guide new or existing 'domiciliary' (care work at service users own homes as opposed to care homes) in practical, workable service care working activities.
My main focus these days lie in the care (domiciliary care) sector and hotel / leisure environmentsI have enjoyed OSHCR status and been on the OSCHR register since it began. I have maintained my registration through CPD as a Chartered member of Institute of Occupational Safety and Health and via my professional approach to assisting companies with the required services they request of me. Having obtained the full NEBOSH Diploma several years ago I know it is important to keep up to date with changes in legislation and approach to the effective management of health and safety and food safety at work. I had previously enjoyed senior safety and health and hygiene roles in the past and I am very comfortable with working senior personnel in a wide range of company disciplines. Formerly head of department to include at 2 breweries, manufacturing and I continue to be a Corporate member of NEIMME as a mining engineer and formerly part time Mines Rescue Brigades man. In addition to the relevant Safety qualifications and status as a qualified and experienced teacher for adults and further education I deliver Health and Safety Management and also Food Hygiene and Safety Management training courses as requested. In addition I regularly advise and train on behalf of care sector domestic companies in the North East of England. My services include: Writing health and safety and food safety and hygiene policy; Design of bespoke safety management systems; Development of HACCP forms and food management system; Advisory role; Civil and Criminal liabilities - evidence roles; Risk Management and Behavioural Management.
In 2018 I was elected as a Ttrustee / Board member of the Royal Charter NE Institute of Mining and Mechanical Engineers based in Newcastle upon Tyne at the 'Great North'
Both as a voluntary LEA Governor at a local community primary school and for domiciliary care companies I maintain. monitor and deliver 'Safeguarding' and 'Alerter' procedures and courses for the protection of vulnerable adults, the young and children.
I also hold the NEBOSH environmental management qualification.
Thank you for reading this and considering my professional services.
