Mr Peter Harvey
Overview
Looking for health and safety support in 2024, I am available to support you and your business so please give me a call on 07584 287895 even if only for a chat and some free telephone advice. My email address is peter.harvey@pjhconsulting.co.uk. You should note that unlike some large consultancies, I will work mainly on a non-retained basis with clients, this allows both parties control over the support provided with work delivered on a pay as you go basis. If you want to discuss a health and safety issue, please do not hesitate to call.
If you need Qualitative Face Fit testing as part of your health and safety arrangements, I can deliver this in house for you as a single service, or part of your other health and safety support.
As an independent consultant with 30 years’ experience as a health and safety practitioner, I am passionate about what I do, helping my clients succeed. My focus is on offering you capacity, working with you, where others give advice and guidance. If you need a competent health and safety person in your business, I have the skills, knowledge, and experience to fill that gap.
I am happy working with small businesses in any sector or providing support to large businesses, working within existing health and safety teams. I can fill that gap in your business at a fraction of the cost you would incur using a large national consultancy.
To deliver consultancy well I need to understand how your business works and where your priorities are. My aim is to make safety management interesting and engaging, developing the people, skills and knowledge in your business.
I am an ex-serviceman, you will appreciate that my work ethics are focused on service delivery, through great teamwork, where people and a great working relationship are central to what I do.
As an example, I can help draft your safety policies, develop your company risk assessments/method statements/safe systems of work, provide local training, or conduct workplace and site inspection, providing sensible recommendations and action plans. I deal with tender documents on a regular basis and all those difficult health and safety questions. A client can use my details as their competent person for health and safety advice.
If you need help with ISO 45001, ISO 14001 or compliance with any of the SSIP schemes (CHAS, Achilles, SafeContractor, Constructionline), I have been successfully helping clients through these for many years.
Current Tasking:
Focussed on new client work with risk assessments, fire safety, noise and vibration management, alongside local bespoke training and qualitative face fit testing. Also undertaking significant proactive inspection and audits across the UK, with clients benefitting from a consistent approach, with a single named point of contact. Working with a number of smaller clients moving from large consultancies, seeking more proactive hands on support, with a named competent person who they see on a regular basis. Developing COSHH assessments for end users, allowing them to better demonstrate compliance when tendering and seeking new work.
