Responsibilities in post

§  Responsible for conducting Fire Risk Assessments for 10 Branches and ensuring all actions are carried out.

§  Co-ordinating and controlling the day-to-day HSQE arrangements. including; Maintaining an awareness of current Health and Safety legislation and regulations and ensuring our policies and procedures are compliant.

§  Ensuring that accident reports and investigations are completed for all accidents and incidents.

§  Carrying out six-monthly health & safety audits within each branch.

§  Carrying out fire risk assessments.

§  Preparing health and safety plans, risk assessments, method statements and safe working procedures as required for contract works. Providing real world advice and assistance with the aim of ensuring that the Company meets with its obligations under the CDM Regulations.

§  Ensuring adequate first aid and fire provision across the company.

§  Ensuring that procedures are in place that will ensure items of work equipment are suitable for the purpose and are operated and maintained satisfactorily.

§  Assessing risks to health arising from use of potentially hazardous substances, identifying suitable precautions, and ensuring that control measures are used and maintained.

§  Review of asbestos surveys, identify and log the risks notifying the relevant operations department within the company.

Responsible for the Health and Safety within the Central Hub which is the busiest freight hub within the network handling on average 90,000 per day.

§  Accident reporting and investigation.

§  Carrying on site Fire Risk Assessments

§  Monitoring of safe systems of work

§  Improvement of H&S within the Hub

§  Implementation of new systems and procedures

§  Management of all Contractors (including permits to work)

§  Health and Safety training for all staff

§  Development, design and delivery of internal training

§  MHE training including counterbalance forklift truck and pedestrian pallet trucks.

Responsibilities in post

§  Project Management of £2.5M corporate functional skills product.

§  Re-design of delivery structure including classroom delivery.

§  Instrumental in developing use of new technologies including zoom and padlet.

§  Development of staff and productivity trackers.

§  Strategic planning of delivery for Functional Skills.

§  Working on the Quality Improvement of the department.

§  Planning and prioritising of delivery for several out of funding learners
