IM&S Solutions is a small consultancy whose two partners can offer fifty five of experience between them in the real world of operating in high risk industries with best H&S practices. We assist clients to help them reach compliance with all their particular health and safety issues, leaving them free to get on running their businesses, with the confidence that there is competent and proffesional oversight of all their H&S concerns. Clients may wish to use our particular specialism in the design and implementation of Management Systems to internationally recognised standards. e.g.OHSAS 18001;(now recently 2018 modernised to become the new ISO 45001) ISO 9001; ISO 14001. either standalone, partially or fully integrated . We provide practical advice and guidance on risk management, emergency preparedness and business continuity issues. Clients particularly value our package of inspecting and auditing their entire operation, culminating in a colour coded prioritiesed report back to them on all areas and aspects of the business clearly indicating what does, or may, give rise to non compliance issues. The report lays out both pracmatic advice and priorities which acts almost as a 'route-map' for how to improve the business but at a pace that the owner or company feels comfortable with. We provide a comprehensive package of Health and Safety training courses as well as Management Development courses. An Associate of Professor Peter Mckie (past CEO of Dupont), we mentor companies through implementing Behavioural Safety Systems, using Visible Felt Leadership principalsUndertake an extensive range of audits and inspections. Director of Health Safety and Training | 04.1997 - 11.2006 | Rory Graham joined Foster Yeoman Limited, a family owned Quarrying business as a management trainee in 1977, after completing three years as a commissioned officer in the British Army. He gained experience in production, sales and marketing around the South East of England and on overseas postings in Saudi Arabia and Namibia S.W. Africa.
He was appointed Commercial Manager based in Houston Texas USA in 1987, with Northern Europe being added to his remit in 1988. Subsequently he became General Manager of Torr Quarry, the largest hard rock production quarry in the UK at 7.5 million tonnes per annum.
In 1997 he was made a Board Director for Foster Yeoman Limited, for Health and Safety, with responsibility also for Training and Human Resources. His wide range and depth of practical health and safety experience and leadership in high risk industries was gained over twelve years as his remit covered Torr Quarry, the 6.5 million tonne ‘superquarry’, Glensanda in the highlands of Scotland, Foster Yeoman’s own shipping fleet (World Self Unloaders transporting over 5 million tonnes of products annually through UK and European handling terminals), the UK’s third largest railway freight operation, a Thames river tug and barging operation, nine asphalt manufacturing plants across the south, and a London based civil engineering and contracting company.
In 2006 The Yeoman family sold the Company to Aggregate Industries and Rory Graham subsequently left to set up his own consultancy IM&S Solutions Ltd. ‘Integrated Management and Safety Solutions’ in partnership with Gary Timmins who had been the key architect for Foster Yeoman becoming the first company in the Quarrying industry to run all it’s operations under a fully accredited Integrated Management System. |
