 Responsible for implementation, control & monitoring of QSE policies & procedures within the Business Management System.    Promote understanding & awareness of the Business Management System including performing briefings & presentations, provision of additional training as required.    Assist with accident/incident reporting & investigation.    Providing Induction training for Atkins Rail personnel within the North Area.   Provide input for QSE Briefings and assist with the distribution & awareness throughout region.  Support Project Managers in QSE matters including -:  provision of tender & bid support documentation. Production of quality, safety & environmental plans.   General project advice & support on QSE matters relating to major rail projects (design & build).  Key member of the team responsible for implementation of OHSAS 18000 across the Rail section of the business.    Involvement with audits for ISO 9001 & ISO 14000 and ongoing monitoring of the business.   Provide QSE support for Regional Managers at their designated offices including: - Safety Inductions, Risk awareness & general office safety advice, support & training.   Carry out Site Safety Inspections & Office House Manager Tours. 

 Provision of a specialist and comprehensive environmental advisory service.   Identify, plan and implement environmental initiatives that contribute towards commitment for continual improvement.  Manage environmental issues with professional integrity at all times to achieve satisfactory control, monitoring and implementation of QSE policies and procedures to meet legislative and contractual requirements for Project works.  Support the Directors in the identification of changes to legislation and standards and the review and development of new procedures to support the objectives.  Develop contacts with other environmental organisations in the Railway Group to promote best practice in QSE initiatives of the business in accordance with strategic development.  Development and delivery of HS&E training  Provide a comprehensive health, safety advisory service to support all staff.   Perform internal and supplier approval audits as requested.   Identify, plan and implement Atkins Rail initiatives that contribute towards commitment for continual improvement of OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001 & ISO 9001.  Manage health & safety issues to achieve satisfactory control, monitoring and implementation of QSE policies and procedures to meet legislative and contractual requirements for Project works.  

 Approved trainer for delivery of IOSH Training for Managing Safety and Working Safely.  Provision of general H&S advice & guidance  Provision of advice on company environmental policy and production of policy statements, environmental risk assessments  Mentoring/supporting companies to successful accreditation to recognised schemes eg. CHAS and ConstructionLine  Provision of CDM Coordinator services  Provision of Site Waste Management Plan services   Production & delivery of training packages to suit Client needs   Site/Worplace Inspections and Audits (one off & planned)
