Overview
Edward is a leading authority in event health and safety. His expertise is in the design development and delivery for large scale public events, as well as the testing of plans in table top exercises. Events worked range from highest profile from summits for Head of State to Football homecoming Parades for Liverpool Footbal club (750,000 persons according to Police). Edward also works Live concerts for the Slam Dunk and Outbreak Festivals to specialist support for F1 sports broadcasts.This work includes management systems, risk assessment; Viral safe workspaces; site appraisals & design; Edwards range of industry experiences and qualification also allows him to give expert advice and support licensing; security and safety systems, at both strategic and operational levels.Edward has developed the safety and licensing process for Liverpools largest night club at Blackstone Street Warehouse and advioses the Warehouse Project on their events at the Depot Mayfield
Professor of Professional Practice in Events Management at the University of Cumbria, he is qualified as a Chartered Safety & Health Practitioner specialising in Event Safety and events. Edward is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and course leader on the unique Counter Terrorism and Risk management University Diploma at the University of Cumbria
Edward worked with the UK Event Industry Forum and HSE on producing the new Purple Guide (Event Safety Guide).
Edward is also a member of the IOSH Sports Ground and Events Committee
