Edward is currently a safety consultant in events management and licensing. Qualified as a Chartered Safety and Health Practitioner specialising in Operations, Event Safety and Crowd Management. Experience of venue management and operations at strategic and operational level. Qualified as a Lecturer in Higher Education. Worked with the EIF and HSE on producing the new Event Safety Guide as editor, and as co-author of 10 chapters, as well as on the new industry guide to temporary structures. Trained as an expert witness in this subject
Extensive work experience, notable achievements and success earned in diverse roles, but primarily operational and safety management for mass participation public events. , Recently worked for Jockey Club Live Events; UK Live Lets Rock Events both across the UK. Worked with Slam Dunck in Leeds since 2014. Worked with Culture Liverpool on Chinese New Year, Firework Displays, Remberance Service and National Armed forces Day since 2008 and the Spider in 2008 and the Giants in 2014. Worked with Neptuunus at the 2017 Heads of State/Government Summit at NATO. Works with a range oof running events across the North West including Rock and Roll Marathon; Liverpool Half Marathon; Wirral Half Marathon; Warrington Half Marathon . Worked with the City of Rotterdam National New Years Eve Celebrations since 2009
In 2012 was Captia Safety Consultant to Olympics responsible for moving people from transport interchange into the Park; then the safely back again. Designed developed and delivered the strategy and the daily operations, with the diverse stakeholders around the Olympic Park- 20 million passenger journeys were safely completed for Olympic and Paralympic Games
Other works include; Artichoke at Lumiere Durham; several Olympic torch relay stages and evenings; Delivers training to College of Policing (formerly NPIA),Showsec for their venue and regional managers,
Teaches the Masters in Events Management at the University of Derby and is programme leader for the only HE diploma course in event safety management.
