Following this, acted as client’s representative for subsequent extensions and additional construction projects; from initial design through to commission and handover. This included the construction of the, at that time, largest aquarium tank in the UK. Responsible for management of all aspects of health and safety at the Aquarium. This includes conducting initial staff safety inductions, staff risk assessment training and overseeing of the risk assessment process, identifying and organising additional health and safety training as required. Responsible to ensure the Aquarium successfully achieves BS8555 accreditation for Environmental Management, with eventual accreditation for ISO 14001. Responsible for the operation and maintenance of equipment used in life support systems and building management systems, including ensuring that all systems are operated and maintained in accordance with company policy. These include several Life Support Systems used for maintaining water quality in over 4 million litres of water in the exhibit tanks at the aquarium. Responsible for the supervision of sub-contractors involved in specialist maintenance and installation of new plant and equipment. |
