Overview
Karen McNeill is Managing Director of McNeill Expert Services Limited and has over twenty years of experience in sectors such as Health & Safety, Mechanical, Energy and Forensic Engineering. She has been appointed as an expert witness on over 200 occasions and has given evidence in Court (Edinburgh Court of Session and Inverness Sheriff Court). She has gained design experience through working on projects for the Ministry of Defence and commercial organisations.
Mrs McNeill has authored many reports relating to occupational diseases including; asbestos exposure, hand arm vibration, noise and nuisance dusts. She draws on her extensive engineering knowledge and experience and where required, can calculate cumulative exposures in order to assist the Court.
Her work involves assessment of safe systems of work, provision and use of work equipment, working at height, manual handling and COSHH.
She has also been instructed in fatal accident inquiries, criminal prosecutions and has assisted in the preparation of expert evidence in cases of arbitration and public inquiry.
In addition to her litigation work, she provides advisory services including reviewing Health and Safety Policy documents, Risk Assessments and providing advice on training for staff.
