• Risk Management: Developing, reviewing, and verifying site-specific Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).

• Competent Person: Acting as the Competent Person for clients, providing ongoing retained H&S advice.

• System & Investigation: Developing H&S Management Systems (e.g., ISO 45001 alignment) and conducting accident/incident investigations (including RIDDOR).

• CDM Documentation: Provision of or assistance with the Pre-Construction Information (PCI), Construction Phase Plan (CPP), and the Health and Safety File.

Inspections

• Conducting frequent, targeted site inspections of working conditions, plant, and immediate task hazards (e.g., Working at Height, excavations, site traffic).

• Formal, photographic Site Safety Inspection Reports detailing breaches, relevant statutory references, and prioritised immediate corrective actions for site management.

Audits

• Performing periodic, comprehensive audits of the entire Health & Safety Management System, legal compliance, and documentation (aligned with standards like ISO 45001).

• Detailed H&S System Audit Reports providing systematic findings, identifying systemic gaps, and offering strategic recommendations for policy and procedural improvements.

Investigations

• Immediate Incident Response: Mobilising quickly to manage the scene, gather perishable evidence, secure witness statements, and inform relevant parties following serious incidents or near misses.

• Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Conducting thorough, structured investigations utilizing recognised methodologies (e.g., Bowtie, 5 Whys, or ICAM) to determine underlying systemic failures, not just immediate causes.

• Statutory Reporting & Liaison: Managing and submitting accurate reports under the Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations (RIDDOR) to the HSE, and liaising with enforcing authorities on the client’s behalf.

• Preventative Recommendation: Developing specific, actionable, and proportionate recommendations to prevent recurrence, focusing on systemic fixes rather than simple disciplinary action.

• High-Level Investigation: Leading complex, multi-party investigations involving fatalities, significant dangerous occurrences, or regulatory breaches.

• Formal Investigation Reports: Delivering comprehensive, confidential reports that detail the incident timeline, evidence gathered, the determined root and immediate causes, and clear findings.

• RIDDOR Submission Records: Providing proof of accurate and timely reporting to the HSE, ensuring the client meets their statutory obligation.

• Preventative Action Plans: Generating structured Action Plans with assigned responsibilities, deadlines, and verification methods for implementing the investigation's recommendations.

• Training & Feedback: Delivering formal presentations or toolbox talks based on lessons learned from the investigation to site management and operational teams to drive cultural change.

Fire

• Construction Phase FRA: Developing project-specific Fire Risk Assessments that address the unique and rapidly changing fire hazards present during construction, demolition, and refurbishment activities (e.g., temporary works, hot works, timber frame structures).

• Compliance with Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005: Ensuring the Responsible Person meets their statutory duties under the Order, specifically regarding site fire precautions and emergency plans.

• FRA Review & Maintenance: Conducting regular reviews of the FRA to reflect significant changes on site, such as project phase progression, new temporary accommodation, or changes in combustible materials.

• Means of Escape and Fire Fighting Provision: Advising on adequate means of escape, emergency lighting, signage, fire detection (e.g., temporary alarm systems), and the provision/location of firefighting equipment.

• Hot Works Permit System: Developing and implementing a robust Hot Works Permit-to-Work system to control high-risk activities like cutting, welding, and grinding.

• Project-Specific Fire Risk Assessment Document: A formal, written document detailing the scope, fire hazards identified, persons at risk, evaluation of existing controls, and a clear, prioritised action plan for remediation.

• Emergency Plan Documentation: Development of the site-specific Fire Emergency Plan, including clear procedures for raising the alarm, evacuation routes, muster points, and duties of Fire Wardens.

• Bespoke Training Delivery: Delivering targeted, site-relevant training across key construction risk areas, including: Working at Height, Abrasive Wheels, HSG47 Safe Digging, and Fire Extinguisher Use.

• Occupational Health Focus: Providing awareness training on long-term health risks, including Manual Handling techniques, COSHH principles, and Occupational Health Awareness.

• Competence Assurance: Conducting practical training and assessment for roles such as Vehicle Marshal/Banksman and ensuring correct usage of PPE through Face Fit Testing.

• Site-Wide Communication: Developing and delivering effective Site Inductions and frequent, engaging Toolbox Talks to maintain a continuous safety culture across the workforce.

• Training Needs Analysis (TNA): Assessing specific site requirements and workforce competence gaps to ensure all training provided is relevant, proportionate, and meets legislative requirements.

• Training Records & Certificates: Providing documented evidence (e.g., registers, formal certificates) of attendance and successful completion for all delivered training sessions.

• Bespoke Training Content: Supplying the instructional materials used, including presentation slides, practical demonstration guides, and supporting hand-outs.

• Competence Reports: Delivering formal reports detailing the outcomes of assessments, such as Face Fit Testing records or Vehicle Marshal competence sign-offs.

• Toolbox Talk Library: Developing and providing a suite of ready-to-use, project-specific Toolbox Talks for site supervisors to maintain consistent H&S communication.

Environmental Management

• Environmental Management System (EMS): Developing, implementing, and auditing EMS documentation, often aligned with ISO 14001 requirements.

• Waste Management Planning: Advising on the development of site-specific Site Waste Management Plans (SWMP) focusing on waste minimisation, segregation, and legal disposal pathways (Duty of Care).

• Pollution Prevention: Assessing and advising on risks related to air, noise, ground, and water pollution. This includes managing dust, controlling noise emissions, and implementing Spill Prevention & Response Plans.

• Legal Compliance: Identifying and maintaining a register of applicable environmental legislation, ensuring the project meets all necessary permits and statutory requirements (e.g., permits for discharge, protected species).

• Resource Efficiency: Providing strategic advice on reducing energy, fuel, and water consumption on site to lower costs and environmental impact.

• Environmental Management System Documents: Providing the full EMS documentation set, including policy, objectives, procedures, and responsibilities.

• Waste Documentation: Formal Site Waste Management Plans (SWMP), waste transfer notes audit records, and waste flow monitoring reports.
