Initially working as a H&S Consultant then Team leader before maanging the Team and deliver of a H&S servcie to a broad spectrum of clients 

Staring as a Company Standards Auditor responsible for auditing a number of stores for compliance with Company procedures and compliance with respect to Food Safety, Health & Safety, Environmental and Trading Standards legislation.

I attained a HNC in Environmental Health Studies and was then promoted to Company Standards Officer. Duties included accident investigation, liaison with Enforcement Authorities, training both junior and senior management, working with Distribution Centers to improve the safety both within the depots and at the point of delivery and overseeing pest control contractors.


Achievements included; -
• Minimising legal action for Health and Safety offences against the Company to only one successful prosecution (plea bargain) over a five-year period, for stores within my area.
• Developing Safe Systems of Work to improve safety at the point of delivery.
• Developing team members to the point that many are currently working in Health and Safety positions outside of retail sector including the Nuclear Sector and the NHS.
• 100% compliance with audit, accident investigation and other KPI’s across the whole Northern Team. This was achieved by early identification of potential shortfalls and the reallocation of resources to address the shortfall.
• Shortly after leaving to work for First Business Support three stores from my area were awarded British Safety Council Awards.
