Mr Sushanta Das Gupta
Overview
A Chartered Quality Professional of CQI/IRCA and an experienced consultant of Safety Health Environment and Fire (SHEF) with 25+ years’ delivery in Defence and multi-sector consultancy, I design and embed proportionate safety, environmental and fire management systems that turn strategy into measurable outcomes. In recent MOD roles (HQ and frontline), I’ve acted as principal adviser to Command, building SEMS aligned to UK law, JSPs and ISO 45001/14001, and driving culture change through one-page policies, supervisor micro-briefs, QR-logged checks and Power BI dashboards—lifting on-time action closure and regulator confidence. I’m an IRCA Lead Auditor (ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001), NEBOSH National Diploma (L6), NEBOSH Fire Certificate, SFJ L4 Fire Auditor, Defence Unit Fire Safety Manager and Occurrence Investigator, with additional competence in DSEAR and radiation safety. A qualified trainer (PTLLS) accredited to deliver IOSH, HABC, CIEH and Pearson programmes, I coach line managers, reps and contractors to build lasting competence and ownership of risk. Professional standing includes Fellow of IIRSM (FIIRSM), CertIOSH (IOSH), CIEH, IEMA Practitioner, CQI/IRCA Chartered Quality Professional and BCSP TSP. My focus is pragmatic risk reduction to ALARP, clear evidence of compliance, and collaborative, data-led improvement that safeguards people, assets and mission.

Support covers gap analysis, policy and procedure development, document control, KPI design, internal auditing (CQI/IRCA), root-cause problem solving, supplier quality, customer feedback/complaints handling and Management Review. I can integrate Quality with ISO 14001/45001 to form a lean IMS and create dashboards so performance and nonconformities are visible and acted on.

I deliver internal audits, legal-compliance checks and supplier/contractor audits against UK law, JSPs and ISO 9001/14001/45001, plus PAS 79 fire safety verification. As an IRCA Lead Auditor, I plan audits around material risks, sample real work (walk-throughs, interviews, document/evidence trails), and provide clear, proportionate findings with root-cause analysis and practical fixes. I also run certification-readiness (Stage 1/2 mock) audits and coach action owners so improvements are embedded and evidenced.
